What Happens During a Solar Installation? A Day-by-Day Breakdown

Day 1: Site Assessment & Design

Before a single panel is installed, our engineer visits your property for a 60–90 minute site assessment. We measure your roof dimensions, check structural integrity, assess shading from trees or neighbouring buildings, and review your last 3 EB bills to right-size your system.

Day 1–2: Panel Mounting

  1. 1Mounting rails are fixed to the roof using weather-sealed fasteners
  2. 2Rails are checked for alignment with a spirit level
  3. 3Solar panels are mounted on the rails and secured with mid/end clamps
  4. 4Panel-to-panel wiring (DC strings) is run through conduit

Day 2: Electrical Work & Inverter Installation

  1. 1DC cables from panels connected to inverter DC input
  2. 2Inverter mounted on a shaded, ventilated wall indoors
  3. 3AC output connected to main switchboard via AC isolator and MCB
  4. 4Earthing and lightning arrestor installed (mandatory by TANGEDCO)

Day 2–3: TANGEDCO Inspection & Meter Change

After installation, TANGEDCO conducts an inspection and replaces your existing meter with a bidirectional net meter. This process takes 7–21 days from our application date.

Going Live

Once the net meter is installed, your system goes live. We configure your inverter's monitoring app so you can watch real-time generation, daily totals, and lifetime savings from your phone.

Heliostrom provides a 1-year post-installation support warranty covering all workmanship. Panel and inverter warranties are direct from the manufacturer.
